How Denver Businesses Can Leverage Client Testimonial Videos to Build Trust and Increase Sales
Video content is a necessity for small businesses of any kind. What better way to use video than to highlight your happiest clients with your services or products. At Collective Mind Technologies, we believe in the power of utilizing the power of video marketing to build your brand and increase sales. We recently released our own client testimonial videos with one of our long time clients, FloWater.Â
We have worked with FloWater to provide consistent and reliable technical support for over 6 years to help them streamline their technology as they have grown their team from less than 10 employees to over 50 employees. We love supporting our clients as they grow. We had the opportunity to sit down with a few of their team members to create a testimonial video at their office in Denver. Check out the full video below:
Customer testimonial videos have a huge impact on building trust and credibility for your small business, which can help turn leads into customers and boost your sales. When prospective clients hear directly from your happy customers, they are able to see why you are a trusted professional in your industry.
Why Client Testimonial Videos Matter
Client testimonial videos are a powerful tool for sharing authentic customer experiences with prospective clients. While written reviews are valuable, video testimonials capture attention and convey emotion in a way that text alone cannot. Hearing directly from a satisfied customer sharing their story allows potential clients to connect on a personal level. Sharing authentic stories from real clients allows you to build trust and credibility, as well as understanding the value of your product or services. Testimonial videos are a simple but effective way to help small businesses increase sales through building brand awareness and trust.
The Process of Creating Compelling Testimonial Videos
Creating client testimonial videos is fairly simple. If you are interested in creating your own client testimonial videos or working with a professional video production company, here are the steps to follow to create an effective video.
1. Identify and reach out to a happy customer you want to highlight.
The first step is of course finding the right client to film for your testimonial video. When selecting potential clients for your video, ensure that the client was happy with the service and/or products you provided and that you want to highlight the services or products they purchased. You will also need to reach out to see if they are interested in participating and available to dedicate a few hours to contribute to filming the video. It is also important to explain to the client what the overall process will be for the video, where you will be posting the video and answer any questions they may have.
We chose a long time client, FloWater, that we’ve supported with our technology solutions for many years. We asked FloWater because they have worked with us for a long time and know the value of our technology services well. Additionally, we wanted to highlight our monthly technology services since we are currently focusing on growing this segment of our services.
2. Preparing for the shoot.
Once you have a client signed up to be involved in your testimonial video, you’ll need to prepare for the video shoot. First, you will need to secure a date/time, location and coordinate with the people participating in the video. Since your client is contributing their time and energy to benefit your company, it’s best to be as accommodating as possible. So filming at their office with as little disruption as possible may be best for them. But, don’t be afraid to ask what works best for them. Next, you’ll need to come up with a few interview questions to get the responses that showcase your business as best as possible. You can always utilize AI tools, like ChatGPT, to assist in writing these questions. Be sure to add a personal touch to the questions so they provide tailored answers to your company. Then, you’ll need to identify the team members that you’ve collaborated with the most for interviews, so they will have solid answers to your questions. Don’t forget about b-roll footage! Talking head interview videos can get a bit boring, so if possible, get a few shots of your happy clients using your service or product to go along with the interviews.Â
We filmed our testimonial video with FloWater at their office location and got a few b-roll shots after we filmed interviews with 5 staff members. We talked them through the process and kept everything quick and easy for them so we didn’t disrupt their work day. We also brought donuts to show our appreciation.
3. Creating the final product.
Once filming is done, it’s time to put together all of the pieces to craft your story. You will need to consider where you are sharing the video and what other content you can create with this video. After all, creating a video, whether DIY or professionally, can be a big investment of time, energy and money. I recommend adding a longer (1-2 minute) video to your website. If it is for a specific service or product, add it to those respective landing pages. Or if you have a testimonial page on your website you can add it there as well. Select the best answers from your interviews that really feel authentic and true to your business. Pick a variety of perspectives and topics so your video highlights your company’s best qualities. Review your b-roll footage to find the best shots that go along with the interviews. Once you have a complete video, create 2-3 (or more!) short vertical clips for social media. Don’t forget to add finishing touches, like titles, music and graphics that are in alignment with your brand.
We shared our video on our technology services pages and have created a few additional videos for social media. We also plan to incorporate clips from our testimonial video into our branding video we will be creating later this year. Work smarter not harder and make the most of your videos!
