Last minute Mother’s Day gift ideas, Making the most out of your content plus Keeping up with tech for your growing business!
Happy Mother’s Day!
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas out there! We started Collective Mind Technologies to pursue our passions AND to have the flexibility as parents. Lucy really was a huge inspiration to us to start our own business.
As a business owner and a mom, I (Lindsay) can appreciate the challenges of balancing work and motherhood. Like owning a business, being a mom is really hard, but also the best thing I’ve ever done. I’m so grateful to Lucy for making me a mom and for Ryan for being such a supportive partner in parenting, business and just life overall.
If you are a last minute shopper, we got you covered! For those who are still looking for gift ideas, here are a few to consider:
• Does the mom in your life like tech? A new smart watch is something she is sure to love!
• Get creative! Any mom would love a video card or a photo collage. It’s a fun, more personable way to say thank you to your mom.
• The classics are always a good option too; a massage, chocolate, flowers.
Hiring professionals can get pricey pretty quickly. It is definitely worthwhile to have high quality content to represent your brand, but have you thought about what else you can do with the same content? If you have ever hired a pro to create a video for you, then you know how much time goes into production. You may have spent a full day filming to create a 5 to 10 minute video for your website. When hiring a pro, keep in mind all of the different platforms you may post the same content.
Take a look at our tips below on how to make the most out of your professional content:
-Create short and eye catching clips from the original video for social media posts. We recommend 30 seconds or less to keep your audience engaged.
– Use screenshots or photos from your professional shoot to design a custom graphic in Canva for social media or your newsletter.
-Make it vertical for Reels and TikTok. Use the same content to make it vertical or even better, when you hire a pro ask for vertical clips too!
-If you have a full length course or webinar, create a teaser to get your viewers intrigued and wanting more.
Lastly, no matter what the content was created for originally, get creative. Think outside the box, run ads with that teaser you made, pop the social media edit into your newsletter, etc. And don’t forget, we are always here to help with any editing or production needs.
As a small business, we totally get how tricky it can be to keep up with all of the programs you use to run your business. Like us, you might have a program for email and digital storage, program management software, a billing program, a CRM program, a digital signature program, and more. Especially if you are managing your growing team of onboarding and off-boarding on all these different services, it can feel overwhelming. Here are our tips for keeping up with all of your software:
Access-Make sure you have login information stored somewhere safe and secure. If there are multiple users, make sure they have their own login information so you can track and manage users.
Consolidation- There are so many tools that are at our disposal. There may be the perfect tool for one specific part of your business (i.e. social media management). Instead of adding in an additional platform, check to see if you can use a program that you are currently using to keep things streamlined and simple. Plus, you may be able to save some money.
Outsource- It can get overwhelming to manage all of these different platforms, especially if you don’t have an in house IT department that is dedicated to managing your software. There are many different options that you can use to outsource IT so you aren’t overloading your team. For example, we offer both hourly support and monthly packages.
