2020

We Made It!

Welcome to March 221st! This year has felt like one very long month, and at the same time it seems as if January 2020 was a lifetime ago! Yet here we are with 2021 is just around the corner. 2020 has been one of the most challenging years for us personally and definitely as a small business. We know we are not alone in the difficult challenges we have experienced. Despite all of the obstacles we have faced, we have found a way to continue moving forward.

We started off the year with new gear and our biggest video projects back to back! Luckily that kept us busy throughout the start of the year. As our business quickly slowed down, we really took advantage of all the time we could spend together with our family. We explored our backyard here in Colorado, heading to the mountains, gardening and soaking up all the great weather while we could.

Although we truly miss our family, friends and clients, we are extremely grateful for our health and happiness. We look forward to collaborating with you all in the year ahead!

Tech & Video Tips For 2021!

Back up regularly – It ensures your content and information is secure and makes switching to your new device easy!
Start the year fresh with new passwords
Turn on 2-Step Authentication
Take much needed breaks from screen time
Use your technology as a tool – we recommend practicing mindfulness with the Headspace app!
Check your battery usage in settings for apps draining your battery life
If you are creating your own videos, or just on zoom calls, make sure to have good lighting!
Framing is also important for videos and those zoom calls! Tidy up your background, add some interesting pops of color with art or some great books on your shelf.
Audio is just as important as the video itself. Use headphones with a mic or you can buy some affordable lav mics from RODE if you are producing your own videos.

2020 has been a tough year to be an entrepreneur. We have weathered many ups and downs throughout this year. We have definitely accomplished our goal of spending lots of time with our daughter Lucy. She is now 2 years old and a very spirited toddler! We have shifted our goals for Collective Mind Technologies and are currently only working remotely with our clients. We are grateful to have a business that is flexible and can change with these crazy times. We have taken the time to really focus on tackling some of our business maintenance tasks that we just couldn’t find the time for before the pandemic.

We know we have worked with many other small businesses and we hope you all have been able to hang in there as well. Thank you to all of our essential workers, health workers, teachers and so many others that are continuing to take risks to keep us all safe, healthy and fed.
