Fall is here and we are finally (after a warmer than average September) having some beautiful, cooler fall weather here in Colorado! October is a great time to take a break from the grind and enjoy some of what our Colorful Colorado has to offer. Just after a busy summer and right before we head into a busy holiday season, we like to get outdoors with family and friends for fun fall activities. From fall festivals, pumpkin patches and haunted houses to seeing the gorgeous color changing trees, there is something for everyone to enjoy some relaxing family time.
Here are just a few ideas of things to do around Colorado this month:
Leaf Peeping in the mountains- You can Text FALL to 303-871-1491 for leaf-peeping info (from 9news).
Haunted Houses/Corn mazes and Ghost Tours- Want to have some spooky fun this season?! Check out co.hauntedhouses.com to see all of the haunted attractions (including kid friendly) going on this month.
Trick or Treating- Don’t forget about trick or treating on Halloween or handing out candy to all the cute kiddos if you are able! There are also many trunk or treat events before Halloween for the kids.
Finding balance in work and family life can be tricky, especially when you work from home or with family, or both! Here are some tips to help not feel overwhelmed when trying to balance the two:
Set Boundaries- Establish specific work hours and stick to them as closely as possible.
Have a Dedicated Work Space- Create a comfortable workspace at home where you will be able to focus and give your work uninterrupted attention.
Communication is Key- It is important to maintain open and honest communication with your family about your work and to set realistic expectations when it comes to scheduling.
Self-Care- Quite possibly the most important of tips. You must take good care of yourself if you want to succeed at having a good work/family balance. Regular exercise, mindfulness practices, and sufficient sleep are essential for your well-being.
